First and Finest | 全美最老的海軍醫院

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth is the oldest US Navy hospital, its original structure from the 19th century is preserved to this date! Our tour guide never served in the armed forces, but is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about history of this hospital. He gives free tours to give back to those who serve. A historical hospital tour is not complete without haunted stories. But why is everyone else laughing? 😱😨😰

美國海軍最老的醫院(Naval Medical Center Portsmouth)，保有十九世紀剛建好的樣貌。帶我們的爺爺雖然不曾從軍，但對醫院歷史很有興趣，也想回饋美國軍人們，所以爺爺不定時會有導覽。爺爺在導覽最後以鬼故做結尾，但我也不知道哪個點大家聽完笑到不行，害我超毛！

為了答謝UN平時幫我拍好多好看照片，我決定在UN生日這天回報他！拿出野餐籃、蛋糕架、三腳架，準備時我快被自己的點子笑傻！但不改我的個性，還是要整一下UN。故意買全素杯子蛋糕和有奶蛋的蛋糕，想測試UN能不能嚐出來。好吧，味道還是有點不一樣。

To properly show my appreciation for UN’s role as my personal photographer, I’ve decided to reward him with picnic on the beach for his birthday! I prepared picnic basket, cake stand, tripod, three essentials for beach picnic, lol 

But a birthday celebration can’t be that simple. I bought UN a mixture of vegan and regular cupcakes, to test if UN is able to tell the difference. Turns out they do taste different. Experiment fail. Until next time.

終於在離開維吉尼亞前兩個月和我們小台灣一起來北卡玩！

北卡有很強的魔力讓大家都愛這。有朋友愛北卡愛到婚禮在這辦，也有朋友希望能在北卡定居。每個愛北卡的人都推薦Outer Banks (OBX)！

原先天氣預報顯示下雨打雷，擔心無法出去玩，但在OBX那幾天完全大太陽。UN還因此大曬傷，整個辦公室的人都知道他去玩了！值得一提，小台灣超台超厲害，準備非常好吃的台式早餐。

P.S. 我們Airbnb旁邊就是萊特兄弟第一次試飛飛機的地點。

We finally visited Outer Banks (OBX) with Little Taiwan 2-month before we leave Virginia!!! North Carolina has special magic. People who visited NC always rave about this place! We have friends who love NC, and had their wedding here. We also have a couple of friends who want to settle down in NC after they retire! Everyone who loves North Carolina all recommend OBX, so here we are!

In the beginning, we were worried about a thunder storm in OBX, but it happened to be sunny and warm. UN even got sunburn from our fishing trip. Worthy of mention, my friends also prepared Taiwanese breakfast every morning! So delicious!

P.S. Wright’s Brother first flight trial was next to our Airbnb!
