Taiwanese Friendship Pavilion

UN found out that this structure was a gift from Taiwan as a result of ex-President of Taiwan Mr. Teng-Hui Lee’s visit to Norfolk. All materials used to build this pavilion were all shipped over from Taiwan. When UN first told me about all these things that happened in Norfolk, I didn’t believe him! What a surprise!

來這裡之前，UN還很認真上網做研究。發現台灣前總統李登輝先生來這裡拜訪過。這棟建築是台灣送給Norfolk的禮物，而且全部材料都是從台灣運來的。

一開始以為UN在呼隆我勒，真沒想到在亞洲人不多的Norfolk裡有一棟這麼古色古香的建築，還是從台灣來的呢！

Happy Birthday Navy Dental Corps

週末參加美國海軍牙醫106歲生日！這大概是我目前參加過最隆重的生日，好正式！早上先去做指甲，之後馬上衝回家繼續縫裙子（覺得自己非常賢慧），還邊看YouTube學綁頭髮（好難啊）。

Last weekend was Navy Dental Corps’ 106th Birthday Ball! It’s the most formal birthday celebration I’ve ever attended. Got my nails done in the morning, went home to tailor my dress with a sewing machine (so domesticated I know), and learned how to tie a proper bun from YouTube, all in preparation for Navy Dental Birthday Ball!

P.S. 我家自然光也太棒了吧！

#tbt United Nation Tour

天天經過聯合國，已經失去初次見到聯合國的興奮感了。剛住到中城時，有幾天早上7點就來，想看旗子一面一面上升，還和升旗警衛聊天。

帶我媽來聯合國中文團解說，門口遊客興奮的情緒非常感染人，我這個聯合國鄰居也超期待。

I pass by UN everyday, and consequently lost my initial excitement at seeing the UN buildings. When I just moved to midtown, I would get up early at 7:00 am to see them raise the flags of each nation and chat with the security.

I brought my mom here for the UN tour, the excitement in the air was infectious, affecting even those of us UN neighbors.

雖然這不是第一次進聯合國參觀，但還是對聯合國對世界做出的貢獻覺得敬佩。我媽逛完聯合國後的感想是，為什麼要打仗呢？

Even thought it isn’t my first time touring the UN, but I’m still in awe of its missions around the world. My mom’s conclusion after the tour was: “why do we even have wars in this world?”
